Our Mission
We aim to develop our students to become active learners – learning together to build resilience, interest, and a drive for excellence in the Arts. By sharing the passion with those around them, they are empowered to make a positive difference to others through various artistic forms.
Curriculum
The school’s teaching and learning of Music seeks to develop musical understanding through:
1. Listening
2. Creating
3. Performing
*Music Curriculum Concept - 2023 Music Syllabus
The Music Department applies the Orff-inspired Approach in our teaching and learning of music. Through this approach, our students express themselves through singing, listening, movement, music creation and playing of instruments. They are encouraged to share their views and opinions through music appreciation of varied genres. There are many opportunities for students to showcase what they have learnt, such as performing as a soloist or as an ensemble in class and at recess recitals. Other pedagogical approaches also include informal learning, blended learning as well as technology-based music lessons.
